The modern art collection, which includes works from the turn of the 20th century to the mid-century, reflects the progressive art trends that began in Europe and quickly spread around the world. With approximately 2,400 paintings, sculpture and works on paper, the collection features images by many of the modernist pioneers of both Europe and North America. The collection includes works that display the developments of Post Impressionism, Surrealism, Geometric Abstraction, Regionalism and the American Scene, and into the early stages of Abstract Expressionism.
